Body Shop "Face" Off :D

The Body shop has many different facial care lines, the most famous ones are the tea tree line, the vitamin e line, the seaweed line, and the vitamin c line (I'm sure there are more). While i was there, i noticed that each line carried with it a facial mask, and since I've always loved using face masks, i decided to  review the Tea Tree Mask, The Vitamin E Facial Mask, and the Vitamin C facial scrub. Lets go!

First up is the Vitamin E sink in moisture mask for "intense moisture replenishment" that can be used by all skin types. My face is pretty oily, so I wasnt sure about this at first, but i do have some dry patches of skin on my face so i thought i'd give this a try. This mask is light pink and feels similar to moisturizer, but when i put it on my hands, was more greasy than regular moisturizer. It felt very cool and relaxing to leave on my face, and my face did feel a little softer afterwards. I'd only recommend it for people with dry skin though, because i didn't see too much of a change after using this.

The tea tree line is the most famous and applauded Body Shop facial care line, and having tried the Tea Tree Gel,  i had high expectations for this mask. The package described it as a mask for "blemished skin" that cools and lifts away impurities". However, this mask was disappointing for me. The cooling sensation that the packaging described was more of a burning sensation, and felt very uncomfortable to leave on my face. When I tried to wash it off, the warm water made my face burn even more and so i had to use cold water to rinse it off. It also took a while to get all of the mask off my face, which I did not like. When I did take it off, my face felt very dry and tight, and there was no visible improvement on my blemishes. My face may have reddened even more from all of the scrubbing I had to do to wash it off! I think this mask is for people with super oily skin, because i could not get the results i wanted with it.

Last was the Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. It is for dull skin and is basically supposed to give you a brighter, more radiant complexion". When i first saw it, i expected it to be a normal exfoliant, but when i used it, i realized that it was more of a buffer for your face. It is a whitish cream with tiny black sands in it, and i am not sure what it smells like, but its a slight citrus smell. When you rub it over your face, make sure to rub lightly because the sands are very harsh. It worked very well and after I rinsed it off, i could feel that my face was more smooth and soft, which is great, and it was visibly brighter! I think this product is great for people with oily skin who wants a deep clean. Make sure to moisturize after though, because it makes skin a bit tight.

Out of the three, i was the most impressed by the Microdermabrasion, mostly because i didn't even think my face could be "buffed" or brightened. I definitely recommend it to people with oily or combination skin. I hope you enjoyed this review and that it will help you a bit :). What is your favourite mask?
